Pass through the coal mining region of the Break-O'Day plains to the 150 year old town of St Mary's for morning tea (at own cost). The region dominated by St Patrick's head, named 30 years before Tasmania was colonized. Travel the famous St Mary's pass, a convict built winding path joining the eastern highlands with the coast. We make our way to the sealing and whaling town of Bicheno and the blowhole. Pass through Coles Bay, a small, but thriving town and the gateway to Freycinet National Park, with its renowned white, silica rich beaches and colorful granite rock formations of the Hazards and Freycinet Peninsula. You will have a choice of a challenging walk to the lookout or drive to the lighthouse for awe-inspiring views of Wineglass Bay, the beach said to be in the top ten best in the world. We will return to Launceston via Lake Leak and Campbelltown. Lunch is not provided but there are opportunities to purchase food and beverages during the tour. Fare includes National Park entrance fee.
