Overview
Enjoy views of Launceston City on the way to Brady's lookout where the magnificence of the Tamar River Valley can be seen from a vantage point once used by bushranger Mathew Brady. Visit Beauty Point, where at Platypus House, we watch Tasmanian Platypuses and Echidnas on a fully guided tour of the facility. You are guaranteed to see these spectacular egg laying mammals up close, including live feeding demonstrations. At Seahorse World your guide will provide an interpretive tour of the world's first seahorse farm, its history and of course the amazing life of the seahorse, with an introduction to the live marine creatures in their touch tank. We return to the gold mining town of Beaconsfield for a tour of the museum and view of current mining operations. We then pass some of Tasmania's famous northern vineyards on to the iconic A-framed cable truss Batman Bridge, spanning the Tamar River at Whirlpool Reach. Visit the Swiss Style resort village of Grindelwald, in its magnificent setting amid lakes and spectacular views. Take time to indulge in the variety of shops and café's before returning to Launceston. Lunch is not provided but there are opportunities to purchase food and beverages during the tour.
