Sea Kayaking Adventure-North Stradbroke Island

Description

Make your way to beautiful North Stradbroke Island in sunny Queensland. After we get you fitted out in a wet suit and life jacket, jump in our 4WD for a short trip to our kayaking location.

Our most popular sea kayaking tour hits the water at Cylinder Beach, Point Lookout. We start with an instruction session on the beach. We use very stable double sea kayaks - the kind you sit on, not in. Grab a partner and paddle out through the surf. We head out to Shag Rock, where we stop for a snorkel around this off shore rock formation and popular dive site - a great way to see some incredible marine life. Lookout for reef fish, turtles and manta rays. We allow about 20 minutes for snorkelling before we head back towards the beach. Finish the tour with a play in the surf - catch a wave for a thrilling ride.

Naturally, our tours depend on weather and ocean conditions. At times, we may choose alternate destinations at Point Lookout:

* Manta Bommie - named after the magnificent Manta Rays that visit these waters in summer.

* Whale Rock - water whistles through its blowhole, sounding just like a spouting whale.

* The Cathedrals - a cave system in the headlands of Point Lookout

If ocean conditions are unsuitable, we may head to Amity Point, a small seaside fishing village, popular for fishing, swimming and snorkelling. The pelicans here a friendly and dolphins often play just offshore.

We kayak along the shoreline and into the mangroves. After taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the mangroves we stop for a snorkel near the jetty or head around the point for a play in the surf. The Amity Point tour is generally suitable for children.

Cost: $60 per adult and $45 per child for 2-3 hours (Group discounts available)

Includes instruction, guide, equipment, snorkelling and transport from our meeting point to Cylinder Beach or Amity Point.

Bring your swimmers/bathers, towel, hat and sunscreen. A waterproof camera is a must too!

Meeting point and supplier's details are provided immediately after booking.
