Overview
Beneath the Seppelt Great Western winery lie "the Drives" - a 3km labyrinth of heritage-listed underground tunnels. Dug out by goldminers in the 1860s, the vaults have been home to Seppelt wines for almost 150 years.
On our Drives by Candlelight tour, prepare to be amazed as we take you on an eerie and enthralling journey through the newest Seppelt tour experience.
Guests are greeted with pre tour drinks and a gourmet cheese platter before lighting their lanterns and paying a visit to the local cemetary to view the graves of our pioneers. Here your guide will explain the fascinating history of the town of Great Western.
We then travel through the darkness of the 'underground drives' armed only with our candlelit lanterns and a sense of adventure.
Throughout the tour, your guide will enthrall you with some fascinating and intriguing stories of the past. And if your lucky, you may even meet a local "ghostly' resident. Definitely a night to remember!

This tour takes place in Great Western - approximately 3 hours from Melbourne.

Numbers
There will be up to 20 people within each group. Please contact us if you have a group of 10 or more people and wish to take this tour on a day that suits your group.
Session Time
Allow 1.5 hours for this tour. The tour takes place on the last weekend of every month at around 7pm. Tours can be pre-arranged on alternative days for groups of 10 to 20 people .
Guidelines & Restrictions
Children will need to be 5 years old and over to take part in this tour. Please note that disabled access is limited on this tour. Inquiries should be made prior to booking.
