Joining a dolphin and seal swim tour as a sightseer means that you share all the same excitement and adventure without getting wet.
The spectacle is intensified when you share the boat with snorkellers from all over the world and watch as the snorkelling with dolphins and seals takes place right beside the boat. You won't get closer without being in the water.
While snorkellers head off to view the reef fish and marine life at Popes Eye marine park you have the unique opportunity sit in the silence of the sheltered lagoon and just listen to the sounds from the Australasian Gannet rookery and other oceanic birds and you'll feel like your part of a wildlife documentary.
At Chinaman's Hat you can experience the 30 odd Australian Fur Seals that use the wooden purpose built platform for a resting site. Listen to squeals as the young seals interact with snorkellers by darting in and out of the group like excited puppies.
The dolphins can be found anywhere within these southern waters of Port Phillip bay so while cruising around in search of these majestic animals you will be surprised by the beauty and diversity that the bay offers. You'll see cliff top mansions, historic maritime and military sites, deserted beaches, or busy shipping channels.
The dolphin swims take place right beside the boat and if you can keep your camera still, you may capture the dolphins leaping out of the water or surfing the bow waves as if their willing the boat to go faster.
Heading back home doesn't mean the fun is over the obligatory jump from the roof of the boat caps off what a tour filled with fun and excitement. You just can't wait to go home to download some of the fantastic photos you've captured.
