Cooking Tuscan Style - NSW

Hunter Valley

Overview

Our classes will give you all the right ingredients for a perfect afternoon.

Views - For the class we have exclusive access to one of the Hunter Valley's most beautiful wineries - Sandalyn Estate. As you drive up to their delightful Mediterranean style cellar door, be sure to enjoy the great vistas of vines and olive groves that pass you, and the ever-present Brokenback Mountain range on the horizon.

Wine - Then, when you arrive, be ready to grab a glass and head into the gardens where we start the afternoon with drinks and introductions, before a brief lesson in the history and tradition of pasta, and its long association with wine.

Olive Oil - While your hosts are wetting your appetite with stories and fascinating tales, you'll be able to sample a range of local Hunter and regional olive oils with some good Italian crusty, wood fired bread. We'll then discuss the oils in detail and compare flavours.

Cooking - We'll then go down underneath the cellar door where we have a private area for our hands-on pasta making lesson. You'll be preparing fresh tagliatelle and ravioli right from scratch, using the finest of semolina flour and fresh Hunter Valley eggs.

Eating - While you're cleaning the dough off your hands, we'll cook your fresh pasta along with some simple sauces, and finish the afternoon feasting on the pasta you have created.
