In the PADI Open Water Diver course, your PADI Instructor takes you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a pool or pool-like conditions and progress to the open water getting the background knowledge along the way.
At your own pace, you can complete the knowledge development portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course online with PADI eLearning or book onto our in-store theory sessions if you prefer.

Multiple Locations- Course commences at one of our classroom training facilities on the first day, progressing to the local pool training facility in the afternoon. All students will meet onsite for pier/shore dives on day two (which will be dependent on weather, tides and conditions- but is usually either Mornington, Rye, Portsea or Flinders Pier; students will be advised at the end of day one of the location) and all boat based dives. day three is held at Portsea where all boat dives depart from.

Although we can run programs with a student to instructor ratio of 8 to 1, Metro-Sports guaruntee a maximum of 6 students to each instructor or less. In most programs with more than four students, we will also have an Assistant Instructor or Divemaster present to provide maximum safety.
PRIOR- Home Study; DAY ONE (7hours)- Theory Review & Pool Session; DAY TWO (8hours)- Morning Pier/Shore Dive & Afternoon Pier/ Shore Dive; DAY THREE (6-7hours)- Morning Boat Dive & Afternoon Boat Dive, review of course, completion of log-books and certification sign-off.
- Minimum age 15 (Junior 12 with restrictions) - AS4005.1 compliant medical require prior to in-water activities, visit spums.org.au for details. - Students need to provide/obtain their own personal snorkelling equipment (Mask, Snorkel, Boots & Fins) due to health & hygiene and comfort reasons.
- Certifies successful participants to dive to maximum depth of 18m almost anywhere in the world without supervision of instructor or divemaster.
- All staff are highly trained and insured PADI professionals.
- Liability waiver, indemnity and medical forms prior to commencment of practical dives.
- Minimum age 15 (Junior 12 with restrictions) - Requires AS4005.1 diving medical prior to commencing any in-water activities, visit www.spums.org.au to locate your nearest hyperbaric doctor. - Students need to provide/obtain their own personal snorkelling equipment (Mask, Snorkel, Boots & Fins) due to health & hygiene and comfort reasons. - Activities subject to weather, tides and other conditions (such as shipping) - Changes to confirmed bookings may incur a $25 charge.

Please note: GoDo and/or the activity supplier cannot provide a REFUND for cancellations, no matter the reasons. However, should you obtain Cancellation Cover, you maybe be able to make a claim directly to Mondial Assistance, our Booking Insurance provider.
