Learn to Sail - RYA Sailing School

Sydney

Overview

Learn to sail on one of the most stunning harbours in the world - Sydney Harbour.

We run a full range of practical and theoretical courses from beginners to Yachtmaster level, all taking place on the most comprehensive and versatile fleet of commercially surveyed yachts. Courses on offer include:

* Start Yachting Course - Practical

Taught on beautiful Sydney Harbour, this course covers the fundamentals of sailing. You will be at the helm of our exciting Beneteau yachts right from the first lesson and comfortably accomplish all the basic manoeuvres of sailing by the end of the course. There is a maximum of 4 students plus an instructor on each yacht.

* Competent Crew Course - Practical

We run both Inshore Competent Crew and Offshore Competent Crew Courses - We recommend you complete the inshore course prior to venturing offshore so that you can put new techniques into practice in flat waters before heading out into the Ocean Blue!

The techniques and precise manoeuvres you learn in these courses will give you a deserved sense of accomplishment. The Competent Crew course introduces the student to cruising and teaches personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship to a level required to be a useful member of a cruising yacht.

Our fleet comprises luxurious, specially equipped Beneteau and Sydney yachts from 10-14m. All yachts are in commercial survey.

Each of our instructors are highly qualified and are hand picked by us for their ability to teach in a friendly, relaxed and professional manner! They all hold either a Coxswain or Master Class 5 qualification with NSW Maritime, and are all RYA Yachtmasters with an RYA instructor endorsement. In addition they all hold a current first aid certificate and Sea Safety and Survival Qualifications.
