Overview

COAST TO COAST - a Two day Walking Adventure.

DAY ONE - offering spectacular views of Port Phillip Bay's beautiful blue water and sand bars with the tall buildings of Melbourne on the horizon, this walk begins at the base of Arthur's Seat. Enjoy a coffee at Arthur's Restaurant before heading off on the gently undulating track with areas of boardwalks, bridges and steps. As the walk progresses you will see views across to Bass Straight, fascinating birds and varied vegetation. Lunch pack provided and taxi pick up is from Baldry's Crossing to return to car park. 14Kms

DAY TWO - Meeting at Cape Schanck car park we take a taxi to Baldry's Crossing. This walk follows Main Creek through Greens Bush down to the beach at Bush Rangers Bay and finishes at Cape Schanck. Fauna frequently seen includes Eastern grey Kangaroos, Black Wallabies, Echidnas, Koalas, Blue tongue lizards, Eastern and Crimson Rosellas, Kookaburras and Superb Fairy-wrens. Lunch pack provided. 14Kms.

This activity is undertaken in Walks cover all areas of the Mornington Peninsula e.g. Red Hill and wineries, Arthurs Seat and Main Ridge, Cape Schanck and Greens Bush, Sorrento, Portsea and Blairgowrie. Walk descriptions list the area of the different walks.

Numbers

Minimum of two people up to a group of 14 people. In most cases your group will be the soul participants. Bookings for a single taken for Thursday or Sunday only.

Session Time

The walking tours run 7 days a week, year round, except for the month of August. The day walks will take from 5 to 6 hours each day.

Guidelines & Restrictions

You need to be reasonably fit to comfortably walk the 12 to 14kms required a day. The level of walk is easy to moderate. Bring good walking shoes, light backpack, binoculars suitable for bird watching, sunscreen, hat, lightweight jacket or waterproof jacket, drinks. Backpacks and binoculars can been provided by us and bottled water is provided on all walks.

Own arrangements for accommodation (if required) need to be made. We suggest the Sorrento, Blairgowrie or Rye areas. Mornington Peninsula Information Centre can advise and book accommodation for you. Call them toll free 1800 804 009 or 03 59873078.

If there is doubt as to the suitability of the weather i.e. there are storms or continuous rain you should be in touch with us and if necessary another time can be arranged for your walk.
