Overview
The Cairns Tropical Zoo is the only Zoo in Tropical North Queensland. Enjoy a full morning zoo program, with an opportunity to cuddle a Koala (small extra cost), learn all about snakes, crocodiles, dragons, koalas and red pandas.
See the fabulous Free Flight bird show and take time to feed kangaroos, see dingos, cassowaries, and more. The choices are endless.
You will then be transferred to our Heliport for an awesome 30 minute scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef to our exclusive pontoon at North Hastings Reef.
We spend 2 hours on the Great Barrier Reef, where we enjoy a Tropical Aussie lunch. Afterwards you have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of underwater activities including snorkelling, semi-submersible (“Sub”) and glass bottom boat coral viewing, which is included in the tour. We can also organise Scuba diving (additional cost applies) whether you are a beginner or experienced diver.

This activity takes place in Cairns. Accommodation transfers from Cairns CBD, Northern Beaches or Port Douglas can be arranged for an additional cost.

Numbers
On the day there will be a maximum of 6 people in the helicopter and Skyrail. On the boat there is a maximum of 130, for the train there are approximately 30-40 people per car
Session Time
The whole day is approximately 9 hours in total: Kuranda Scenic Rail - approx 1.5 hours Skyrail Rainforest Cableway - approx 1 hour Pre flight briefing - approx 30 minutes Scenic flight - approx 25 minutes On the Great Barrier Reef - approx 2 hours
Guidelines & Restrictions
Please wear casual dress and bring swim wear, towel, sun screen, hat, camera, sun glasses, and additional spending money. Weight restrictions of 100kg applies for the helicopter flight. Standard Medical restrictions apply for activities such as Scuba diving. Children must be accompanied by an adult
The tour may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make flying dangerous. Please call the centre if in any doubt. Any cancelled experiences will be rescheduled for a later date.
