Barossa Daimler Wine Tour for 2

Adelaide and Adelaide Hills

Overview

You'll be greeted at your Barossa accommodation at 10am, by John Baldwin in a rare and luxurious 1962 Daimler which was previously used in royal tours of the sixties. On meeting John, chat about your preferred wine styles and together, you can work out what you really would like the tour to include. You could be a true wine connoisseur or a keen beginner. John has a great sense of humour and loves to share his knowledge and passion for wine. John's close relationship with the winemakers and characters of this region will ensure your day will be most memorable. If it is not the wine you are pursuing, the day can include many other interests and activites including rose gardens, cheese tastings, bakeries, butchers, micro breweries, historical buildings, gracious gardens, dried fuit tastings at Angas Park Fruit Co., tastings of Maggie Beer fine regional gourmet products and viewing seventeenth century miesen porcelain ware. John will first take you to a cellar door with a wide variety of wines, both red and white and from there he will guide and help you to explore the wines which you will enjoy the most. He has an amazing talent for matching wines with people and for finding new wines which you may not have known existed. A full day tour includes viewing the historic wineries which have made the Barossa famous, even if you don't decide to stop and taste their wares. There are over 100 wineries in the Barossa and so with John's help, you will discover those most suited to you. Visit the wineries that are not on the standard tours and of course, you can always request a particular winery as John will always endeavour to fill all requests.

A 2 course lunch, with wine is enjoyed at Vintners Restaurant and afternoon tea is at Maggie Beers Farm Shop. At the completion of the tour, you will be returned to your accommodation at 5pm.

"An absolutely wonderful day! The driver, John, was very informative and friendly. He was able to make some very good suggestions for wine based on our comments. A truly wonderful experience, and a memorable way to get engaged!" Edward, Sep 2007
