Overview
We travel up to the Kiewa River for fly fishing instructions and then we travel up to the west Kiewa River, which is fairly small but absolutely chock-full of small to medium sized rainbow trout.
Location
Tawonga (Wine and High Country - Victoria)
The meeting point is in Tawonga, although we can pick participants up from nearby areas and return them for little or no additional cost by arrangement.
Exact meeting point and supplier's details are provided immediately after booking.
Numbers
Part day participant numbers are limited to a maximum of 25 people, although groups larger than 4 persons may need to provide their own transport to and from the river, about a three kilometre drive each way from Tawonga Fishing Lodge over sealed roads.
Session Time
Part day trips run for a minimum of three hours of actual fly fishing and/or instruction plus travel time, although most trips last longer. Morning trips start at 8.00am, afternoons at 2.00pm and evenings from 5.00pm, or times to suit for all variations.
Guidelines & Restrictions
No special restrictions apply, although participants who suffer from a heart or respiratory condition may need to pace themselves during the day. The guide holds a level 2 first aid certificate and can monitor minor ailments.
Bring a pair of socks for wearing with waders, a hat, a belt, sunscreen lotion and polaroids. Unless exempt, anglers aged 16 and over need a fishing licence, $5.50 for 48 hours or $11.00 for 28 days.
